The adored movie “Legally Blonde” was the inspiration for the award-winning musical “Legally Blonde The Musical,” which is proudly being presented by Zionsville Community High School. The development of Elle Woods is followed in “Legally Blonde The Musical” as she faces scandal and preconceptions while pursuing her goals. This musical is so much fun that it ought to be against the law. It is action-packed and bursting with great songs and exciting dances.
Elle Woods seems to be a powerhouse. When her boyfriend Warner breaks up with her so he may enrol at Harvard Law, her world is flipped upside down. Elle cleverly charms her way into the elite law school because she is determined to get him back. She battles there with classmates, instructors, and her ex. Elle immediately recognises her potential, though, and sets out to show herself to the world with the help of a few new pals.

Get your tickets as soon as possible since this play will sell out if you miss a single moment of the ZCHS musical magic.

Choral and Musical Theater Director Sam Chenoweth is in charge of overseeing the cast and staff. This show is the first sans COVID-19 limitations, allowing the cast and audiences to enjoy musical theatre as it was before to the epidemic. Chenoweth, along with the cast and staff, are very enthusiastic about it.

I asked Chenoweth and a couple of the key actors how thrilling it must be to get back to “regular” operations and if they were experiencing a surge of energy as they worked through the rehearsal process.

Director: Sam Chenoweth

Yes, we’re back to full strength and have a “renewed” enthusiasm, but there is also a dearth of experience because many of our students have never performed a “regular” play at the high school. It’s been a crazy three years, so a lot of people are learning the process and how the finished result looks — the opposite of the audience. Since we’ve returned to “normal,” people have been asking me a lot of questions about the things we couldn’t do during those [three] years, which has helped to restore some of the status quo.

“Elle is unquestionably distinct from any other part I’ve performed in the past. She is snarky, and by the conclusion of the episode, she is self-assured and capable of defending herself. She is a girl with great strength! The hardest part of playing Elle, in my opinion, was having to experiment with her persona and go outside the box since she is so unpredictable. There are so many erratic aspects to her temperament, so you have to be very sure of yourself.

Junior Matt Nelson: Emmett Forrest

“I feel more at ease after I’ve gotten back into the groove of things. It’s a pleasant and humorous programme! I can directly identify to Emmett in terms of the role he plays on the programme, so it doesn’t feel like “work.” The cast is extremely boisterous and somewhat crazy, although I am pretty level and quiet in real life, so I feel like I can sort of play into that. He is very calm and level.

Senior Anjali Gupta and Brooke Wyndham

“I adore Brooke’s intensity. The moment you first meet Brooke, she starts jump roping and singing for a long. She is in charge of a fitness enterprise and believes in inspiring others to be their greatest selves. She is, in my opinion, a really passionate and strong character, and I adore portraying her! Since we haven’t performed a more humorous and lively concert in a very long time, I’m most excited about the energy of the event. There is a lot of dancing, and the tunes and singing are both incredible in and of themselves. I believe everyone should go since there is something for everyone in this extremely entertaining and powerful presentation.
