Meet the indomitable Robin Lane, the dynamic 90-year-old host of the empowering web series, “Badass Women 50+.” In this Women’s History Month spotlight feature we dive into a candid interview with Robin. Join us in unraveling the wisdom of a woman who defies age and stereotypes and empowering women to find true love.
Hello Robin! It’s an honor to interview you today! We understand that you’ve celebrated your 90th Birthday! Happy Belated Birthday! How did you celebrate it and what does this milestone moment mean to you?
Robin: Milestone milestone yada yada no one ever feels their age that said we had a blast at the Jewish Museum of Florida, because with the war in Israel, being Jewish has become paramount to my sense of identity . My Christian friends were fascinated by the museum and we drank and danced the night away. On our Instagram page we’ve pinned the 1 minute video of the event. So you can see my fabulous silver sequined cargo pants.
Also, my friend Valerie Lynn made a hardcopy photo album of everyone there which now takes the pride of place in my living room. I am so proud to have such creative friends. That gesture is such an extraordinary record of the evening reminding me in fact that it is, I have to eat my own words, a milestone event.
As a beloved public figure, What would you like our readers to know about Robin Lane?
Robin: That I’d be lost without my sense of humor.
“Badass Women 50+” is such an empowering talk show. What type of discussions can we expect from the guests this year and season?
Robin: Our focus going forward has shifted because lasting love,
due to factors such as increased individualism, digital distractions, and unrealistic expectations, is so much more difficult to find in todays society. Nonetheless it remains crucial for emotional fulfillment and personal growth and as we find this of great cultural importance, we will spotlight these issues along with solutions.
What are some of your goals for this year and what are you most excited about?
Robin: As a psychotherapist in private practice for many decades who has specialized in issues of intimacy I am excited to democratize guidance for those who might not otherwise afford it and provide solutions to women in these times of ghosting, breadcrumbing and love bombing aka sophisticated manipulation. Our goal is simple — to help women find true love. No more wasted time and broken hearts.
When you’re not in business or creative mode, what do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
Robin: I’m a nut job for British murder mysteries.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we would love to know about the women throughout history that have inspired the work that you do any why?
Robin: Film stars were my inspiration, I’m not alone in this. Humans have looked to the stars since the earliest agrarian civilizations. It’s just that my stars were in the movies.
What advice would you have for women who aspire to create their own talk shows?
Robin: Just find a concept that your soul resonates to and you will be motivated to fulfill your dream.
