On the seventh anniversary of Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher’s marriage, let’s take a trip down memory lane and focus on the time Kunis talked about how she and Kutcher were meant to be together on The Late Late Show with James Corden. They’ve been married for seven years as of today. Kunis talked about how everything went down when she was a guest on the show in 2016, a year after the couple had already gotten married.
Corden asked when they moved from the “friend zone” to the “end zone” in their relationship. Even though the Black Swan actress was up to no good, she was honest and told the whole truth. Kunis said that their story played out just like the plots of their two movies, which she and Kutcher happened to be working on at the same time. She was talking about the movies that she and Kutcher both directed, Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached. Even though they “acted precisely like both of those movies did” throughout their relationship, Kunis stated, “If we had just paid attention to how those movies turned out, we would have understood that we can’t go into a relationship like this.”
Kunis said that when they were younger, they “literally shook hands” to have fun, but things quickly got serious. Three months later, they moved in together, and soon after that, they got married and had a child. She also said that they did things just like in the movies. For example, she said that the couple “literally shook hands” to have fun when they were young.
But Corden wasn’t happy with Kunis’s answer, so he pushed her more and asked when things started to change between them. Kunis did not give an answer that was good enough. She said that she and Kutcher were just friends for most of the time they worked on the TV show That 70s Show together. Both of them were part of the show’s cast. She went on to say that it was never romantic because she was still young and Kutcher helped her with her chemistry homework.
But after a long time had passed, their lives eventually crossed paths again. Kunis said that they kept in touch through “AOL ichat” while they were in their 20s, but things changed when she ran into him at an award show and at first glance thought something was off. She went on to say that when she first saw Kutcher, she gasped in shock and told herself to “stop it” while her heart was racing. He asked her to come to his housewarming party that night. She found out later that the party was meant to set her up with a friend, but the two of them ended up together. He wanted to set her up with a friend, but she ended up going out with him instead. Kunis said, “It was all meant to be” at the end of her trip through her memories.
