The singer, recording artist and songwriter believes in the power of determination and learning to hustle each day to become the best at what one desire.
No matter how much ever we discuss about a few people making it to the top in their industries, all on their own, thriving on their knowledge, hard work and persistence, it still feels much more discussions are needed around them for the world to know their genius in their industries. It is necessary to put more light on the successes and journeys of these professionals, who carve their own unique niche to growth and success and, most importantly, never give up, no matter what. We couldn’t help but notice how Codie West emerged as a great example of one such youngster in the UK’s music scene.
Codie West recalls how he had to build everything from the ground up and how every day was a learning day for him, which today eventually has helped him become his best version of music. He debuted in 2014 with his single “Voices” with UK rapper and friend JAEY G. In 2016, he got offered a six-month record deal and released his first single, “All My Life,” produced by Ross Butterfield, which was a tropical pop song inspired by Codie’s Mediterranean visits. It gained great momentum and success in Thailand, where he performed it at a famous beach bar in Koh Samui. In 2018-2019, he collaborated with pop production duo UNO and songwriter Ricky Mellish to create a hit track, “Almost Made it.” The song has been such a huge hit that Codie has also spoken about re-mastering and re-releasing it in the future. They also made two other incredible tracks, “Good Thing” and “Gold Girl.”
In 2020, Codie West released “Need To Know,” a Spanish reggaeton single, which featured a summer vibe with a mix of English and Spanish lyrics. He then made “Stop Right Now” in 2021, which he wrote in 2015 and released it under his own record label CODIE RECORDS. This song gave him massive exposure and Global Radio play, including Capital FM, which is one of the UK’s largest radio stations, and Spectrum FM, Spain’s largest English-speaking radio station. He even performed this song at Winter Wonderland, London’s biggest winter festival.
Codie West as a kid, also worked as a model and, as a teenager, appeared in “Jamies’ Dream school,” a six-episode television show, essentially from where he met his music guru Jazzie B (Soul 2 Soul) and got motivated to choose music as his career. With the start of 2023, he is all pumped up to serve new music to people and has already finished writing his album.
