Wizkid, an Afrobeat artist, has explained why he adjusted the words of his most recent releases to be more subdued.
In an interview with the Guardian UK, Wizki stated that he is conscious of the fact that his children would one day listen to his songs as they grow up and that he wants to do all possible to make them proud.
He added, “Now that my kids listen to my songs, I am more careful with what I put in them.”
The Grammy winner said that he want to be remembered for both great music and heroic deeds.
Wizkid used Bob Marley as an example of how much he is loved and honoured.
“In addition to controlling my ego, my goal for this new chapter is to live forever. I recently saw the musical “Get Up, Stand Up!” by Bob Marley. Hey, we’re seeing a Bob Marley play, and this guy passed away a long time ago.
“Bob Marley accomplished so much at such a young age that I was unaware that he passed away at age 36. It just serves to reinforce what I do, and I must continue to push this to new heights. Because I am certain that they will write a play on me someday.
