Some British actors, like Andrew Scott, Claire Foy, Paul Mescal, and Jamie Bell, have joined the cast of Andrew Haigh’s upcoming movie Strangers. Haigh is in charge of making the movie Lean on Pete. Variety says that at least most of the movie is based on a novel by the Japanese screenwriter and novelist Taichi Yamada, who won an award for his work.
The story is about the screenwriter Adam, who is played by Scott. One night in his nearly empty London tower block, Adam meets his mysterious neighbour Harry, who is played by Mescalel, and this changes the way he lives. Adam’s journey through this event is what the story is about.
The story goes like this: “As Adam and Harry get closer, Adam is drawn back to the house where he grew up. There, he finds that his parents, Foy and Bell, who died more than 30 years ago, are still alive and look the same age as when they died.”
Searchlight Pictures, Film4, and Blueprint Pictures have all given money to the project.
Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and Sarah Harvey are making a movie called Blueprint that isn’t part of a studio. DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas are in charge of the film on behalf of Searchlight.
