One-word tweets are becoming more popular on Twitter after Amtrak’s early-morning “trains” post got responses from important accounts like those of US president Joe Biden and the space agency NASA. Amtrak’s tweet got a lot of attention and, as of this writing, had about 1.5 million likes and 20,000 retweets.
Biden and NASA, which is getting ready for a second try to launch the Artemis 1 lunar mission, both tweeted “democracy” in response to the trend.
Sachin Tendulkar has also gotten in on the trend. He posted the word “cricket” like everyone else. When fans saw the tweet, they said it was more than just a word; they said it was a “feeling.”
Both the Washington Post and Bloomberg wrote about “news.” But CNN took a small detour and sent out two tweets with the words “breaking news.”
